For WinGPS 5 (Windows) to work on your system DirectX 9.0c is needed. When newly installing WinGPS 5 (2016 or newer) DirectX 9.0c will be installed automatically. When you want to install an older edition this will not be done automatically. After downloading the file you will be prompted to extract the files in a new folder onto your system. This can be a folder of your own choosing. After extraction you need to open the folder and start 'DXsetup' to install DirectX.
