You can request a free license key for Google Earth Pro at: https://geoauth.google.com/gev0/free_trial.html ( the URL indicates that it is a trial, but it is in fact full version without limitations.). After you sign up, Google will send you a license key and instructions to download and install Google Earth Pro. Existing Pro users don’t need to do anything, your key will continue to work with no changes required.

I installed Google Earth Pro and later decided I didn't want it. That's when the headache started. I looked high and low for removal instructions when I finally found this at https://support.google.com/earth/answer/21955?hl=en

Google Earth Pro Mac
- Go to your Applications folder and search for the Google Earth application.
- Right-click the Google Earth application icon and select Move to Trash.
Additionally, if you'd like to remove all of the Google Earth components from your Mac, please follow these steps:
- Go to Finder.
- Open the Home Directory icon labeled with your user ID.
- Delete the files at Library > Caches > Google Earth.
- Also, please delete the files at Library > Application Support > Google Earth.
